Lower Lena Lake
7/10-7/11/21
We started hiking in around 7pm and made it to our found campsite around 8:30pm. It was only about 3 miles in and really pretty. Happy with our spot, it was off the trail a bit allowing us and Zax a lot of freedom. We fell asleep before the stars but Zax woke up early and chased the birds and dragonflies. It was very relaxing sitting on the log in the water in the morning stretching and sharing a poptart before heading down. Highly recommend this short trip if you’re in the area. The parking lot was full and there were definitely people around but we got lucky with time of day we hiked and finding our own isolated spot for the night
Note: You are unable to continue on to upper Lena lake with dogs as if becomes the national park
