Wildflower season

The end of April beginning of may is famous for the wildflowers in the Columbia river gorge. It can draw big crowds and some hikes, such as dog mountain, began permitting this time of year to preserve. In my opinion, it’s best to go sunrise or sunset. We opted for Sunday a little before sunset when we felt the crowds would be less. We first went up to Rowena crest and it was very crowded. We then hiked up mosier plateau which we were able to find our own space and not as crowded.
